Indigenous Stewardship

As an Indigenous organization that houses a large Native population from all over Canada VNHS has a special sense of what in this day and age is called ‘environmental sustainability.’ The First Peoples of North America have always had a close connection to the land and to nature and see the role of human beings as stewards of the Earth. VNHS supports the view that all people have a responsibility to protect the land, plants and animals to ensure they will continue to thrive for future generations.

As tenants, we can do this by conserving energy and water, protecting the grass, plants and trees around our buildings, and using environmentally friendly cleaning products.
